Steve "Speed" Ball started racing at Speedway Park in 1958 with a Hudson in the Jalopy division. After earning the 1959 Jalopy championship by a great margin, Steve was encouraged by Frank Crosby to get into the modifieds (now sprint cars). He raced and won in 6 decades and was very active in the racing community.
