I started racing
in 1998 in the
DCR (Duke City
Raceway) hobby
stocks. I raced
all 4 years of
high school,
then left for
the Army in
2001, winning 3
out of the 5
main events that
I ran that year.
I got back from
my Army travels
in 2007, won my
first main back
in a car, which
was a cruiser at
Hollywood Hills
that I shared
with my my
brother Kenny
and his wife
Rosanna. We
wound up with a
collective 3rd
in points that
year.
In 2008 we
obtained my
dad's old street
stock from DCR.....3
or 4 owners
later it amazes
me how stuff
always comes
full circle! We
updated it and
stuck a
Budlong's
powerplant in to
keep up with the
likes of Jeff
Whyman, who is a
good friend and
a tremendous
help when
needed. I won 4
main events as a
rookie, and got
several top 5's,
finishing the
year out 3rd in
points after
having
drivetrain
failures and not
finishing the
last 4 races.
The next year
would find HH
closing after 3
main events in
the street
stocks. My
brother Kenny
won the first
one, and I won
the next 2. I
still maintain
that I won the
championship
that year, even
if they didn't
give me a
trophy. :)
The rest of the
year found me
mostly sitting
out, but I went
to UCS and won a
few main events.
At the end of
the year I
purchased a
modified, and
caught the last
couple of races
at UCS to try
and get used to
driving it in
preparation for
the next year.
2010 was my
rookie year in
the mods, and I
won 1 main at
UCS and ran 2nd
in points almost
all year,
dropping to 4th
by the end after
sitting out the
last 4 races or
so.
I have so many
people that
helped me get to
where I am, to
include: My wife
Pam, thanks
babe!, my
brothers and
their wives
(especially
Kenny, thanks
man for all the
hours put in on
my cars), Jeff
Whyman and
Precision
Concrete
Services, The
Wheelers, The
Guinns, The
Boelters,
Budlong
Motorsports,
Outlaw Graphix,
Hinken Specialty
Fabrication,
Sunrise
Sweeping, and
the now closed
Napa in Los
Lunas. There are
many more, and
you know who you
are. Thanks!
