Larry Reynolds Jr.
I went in to the Army for 9 years. When I heard that my dad started the Slug Bug Division as a exhibition division at Sandia Motor Speedway in 2002, I was stationed in Germany. It was then I got out of the Army and returned home that year. My dad and I built my first car and which got me started in racing after going out and watching the first race after I got home. Hehehehe I was hooked on racing. In 2003 the division went to full out racing and that is the year I won the championship. 2005 I was grounded at the age of 30 from racing because I let things get to my head. It wasn’t fun to watch the racing from the stands that year. Now I am back into seat of the #1 Slug Bug and loving every minute…
So far my racing record stands at… 2002- 9th in the points. 2003- Division Champion with 3 main event wins. 2004- 2nd in the points with 4 wins. Loosing out by only 14 points from the championship. 2005- Was grounded from racing… Booooooo… 2006- returned to racing finishing 8th in the points. 2007- 2nd in the points with 2 main event wins. 2008- Currently 1st with 4 main event wins.
2003 through 2006 I drove the #12 Slug Bug. 2007 through current I drive the #1 Slug Bug.
I have also put together a bunch of videos on http://www.youtube.com taken by my roof cam during the race! Just go to You Tube and do a search for "Slug Bug Racing" and watch the fun!
