Dan Goss
I started announcing for the Saturday Night Oval Racing Program at Sandia Motor Speedway in 2001. I am also a part time traffic reporter for Citadel Communications. (770 KKOB AM, 93.3 Kob FM, 99.5 Magic FM, 610 The Sports Animal, etc.) I am a former weekend host of the Night Magic Show on 99.5 (before Delilah), and sports anchor on the "Animal".
In 1996 I retired after 36 years as an Air Traffic Controller (I started young). Since then my only full time job has been with Mesa Airlines. In 2003 I started with Mesa as a gate agent in Phoenix and a year later advanced to the Station Manager position here at the Sunport. I thought I was having fun until one day I realized that retired folks shouldn't be working 14 to 16 hour days. I've also done extensive volunteer work.
Some of you will remember my beautiful wife Deedra from the days when she worked in the souvenir booth at Sandia. She has put up with me for 19 years now. There are ten people running around out there that call me Dad (I started young), and more than a dozen that call me Grandpa.
My goal in life is to break even at the Casino, and my dream for when I grow up is to announce at the Indianapolis 500. That's assuming that Sandia will give me the Memorial Weekend off.
